On 21st May 2025, Queen Mary’s College marked a historic milestone with the inauguration of a seven-storeyed women’s hostel built at a cost of ₹42 crores. This visionary project was launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, in fulfillment of his assurance made during the 104th convocation ceremony in 2022.
The newly constructed hostel is designed to accommodate 455 Students. It offers an inclusive, secure, and modern residential environment right within the college campus, further supporting the academic pursuits of women from across the state.
Beyond the hostel, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation for a brand-new auditorium within the campus, costing ₹5 crores, funded under the MPLADS scheme by Rajya Sabha MP Thiru P. Wilson. This move highlights the government’s commitment to expanding holistic infrastructure for women’s education.
