The National Digital library of India is a project under Ministry of Human Resource Development, India.

The objective is to integrate several national and international digital libraries in one single web-portal. The NDLI provides free of cost access to many books in English and the Indian languages. That includes Books, thesis, Audio lecture, Article, Manuscript, video lecture, question paper, web course, Annual report, solution, dataset, report, Technical Report, Manual, Album, monograph, Technical manual, Law judgement

e-PGpathshala

An MHRD project, under its National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), has assigned work to the UGC for development of e-content subject modules across all the domains of knowledge.

SWAYAM / NPTEL

The courses hosted on SWAYAM are in 4 quadrants – (1) video lecture, (2) specially prepared reading material that can be downloaded/printed (3) self-assessment tests through tests and quizzes and (4) an online discussion forum for clearing the doubts. Steps have been taken to enrich the learning experience by using audio-video and multi-media and state of the art pedagogy / technology.

The Internet Archive, Popularly called as archives.org is building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a traditional library, they provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars and the general public. Their mission is to provide Universal Access to All Knowledge. It was started in 1996.

Today the internet archive contains:

• 4.5 million audio recordings (including 180,000 live concerts)
• 4 million videos (including 1.6 million Television News programs)

Projects Guttenberg

Project Gutenberg is a volunteer effort to digitize and archive cultural works, to "encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks". It was founded in 1971 by American writer Michael S. Hart and is the oldest digital library. Most of the items in its collection are the full texts of public domain books. Presently its collection contains over 60,000 documents and still growing. All ebooks are downaloadable in this collection.

Tamil Virtual Academy Library

உலகில் நாற்பதுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட நாடுகளில் பரவி வாழும் தமிழர்கள் தங்களுடைய மரபுகளையும், விழுமியங்களையும், பண்பாட்டையும் பாதுகாக்க வேண்டும். இத்தேவையை நிறைவேற்ற அவர்கள் தங்கள் மொழி, கலை, இலக்கியம் இவற்றோடு நீங்காத தொடர்புடன் வாழவேண்டும். உலகுதழுவி வாழும் தமிழ் மக்களின் பண்பாட்டுத் தேவைகளை மனத்திற்கொண்டு தமிழக முதல்வர் அவர்கள் 1999 இல் நடைபெற்ற தமிழ் இணைய மாநாட்டின் நிறைவுவிழாவில், "தமிழ் இணையப் பல்கலைக்கழகம்" (த.இ.ப.) ஒன்று அமைக்கப்படும் என அறிவித்தார். அதை நிறைவேற்றும் வகையில் இத்தமிழ் இணையப்பல்கலைக்கழகம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. த.இ.க. ஆட்சிக்குழு ஒன்றால் வழி நடத்தப்பட்டு, ஒரு முழுநேர இயக்குநர் பொறுப்பில் செயற்பட்டு வருகின்றது. இது தற்போது தமிழ் இணையக்கல்விக் கழகம் என்று பெயர் மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. தமிழ் இணையக் கல்விக் கழகத்தின் மின்நூலகம், தமிழ் இணையக் கல்விக் கழகப் பாடத்திட்டத்தில் சேர்ந்து, பயில்வோர் மற்றும் உலகு தழுவி வாழும் தமிழர்கள் அனைவரது பயன்பாட்டிற்காகவும் உருவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இம்மின்நூலகத்தில் நூல்கள், அகராதிகள், பிறபார்வைக்கூறுகள் என்னும் 3 பிரிவுகள் உள்ளன .
