About Department
Telugu Department was started in the year 1952 B.A. Telugu Literature was being taught from the year 1952 onwards. The Department has been providing instruction in B.A. Telugu Language and Literature. At present the year intake of students is about 20 for Regular students for period of Three years. It provides emphasis to Language and Literature besides introducing innovative subjects like comparative Study of South Indian Literatures, Grammatical structure of Modern Telugu, Functional Telugu, Telugu Journalism , Special study of Sri Sri, Telugu Folk Literature , Telugu Novel, Andhra History and Culture, Modern Telugu Poetry etc as Optional papers. The Department is also giving guidance to the students of the Department and also other candidates who are appearing for Competitive Examinations like Civil Services, NET, JRF and SET Examination. Dr. U.Mohana kumari was the HoD of the Department took the Headship . From 2024 wards the department is running under the Headship of Dr. U.Mohana kumari , One Permanent staff with Two Guest Lecturers
